Conor Owen is an exciting maturing UK singer song-writer who combines an acoustic melodic style with a powerfully rawedge. The singer's key influences are both contemporary and classic including John Martyn, Damien Rice, Nick Drake and Ray LaMontagne.
Conor began his musical journey growing upon the Midlands borders experimenting with various band line ups before taking off to live life on the road touring the USA and Europe. When asked about histouring experiences, Conor smiles and says that "it became obvious to me as I immersed myself more and more in music that all I need in this life are my voice and my guitar and I'm happy!"
His first release was with his band "Cowen"in the Autumn of 2010. Their debut E.P "Whisper" shows off more pop/blues style of song writing, complimented by a full band line up.
On his travels Conor has supported bands such as We Are Scientists, The Subways, Envy Corps, Glen Matlock and Dawn Landes.
Conor's forthcoming release "The Observationalist" is his debut solo album, featuring the songs "There's OnlyYou" and "Flies With Her Own Wings". The album is an honest and heart felt interpretation of life, family and relationships as Conor sees them. The album has a distinctly anthemic feel to it featuring lavish string sections in songs such as "Softly Softly" and "There's Only You"
Most importantly, Conor is real, in every sense of the word. No glamour, no fakeness, just plenty of substance. The creativity and passion will make you listen and come back to listen again more closely.
